Identification:
Brown to green body cowered with large scales.
Dark brown to black fins and tail.
Pointed mouth with long barbels.

Typical Location:
Over gravel bottom in pools of forest streams
and slow flowing rivers.

Fishing Methods:
Bottom fishing with dough, potatoes, molluscs, maggots or earthworm.

Fighting Characteristics:
A strong fish with long powerful pulls along the bottom.

Fishing Khao Lak's Comment:
A very strong fish that uses both speed and power during the fight.
Cheow Lan lake holds good numbers of these fish
and we are sure its only a matter of time before the record
for this species is broken at this venue.
