Saltwater Lake Fishing in Thailand.

(Year round fishing).
Phukets' new Saltwater Fishing Lake is the latest addition to our extensive list
of fishing opportunities in Thailand. This beautiful little lake is very
professionally run, and sits in a very nice location near the sea, with access
to fresh saltwater from the nearby mangroves. Fresh saltwater is incredibly
important to sustain healthy fish in a saltwater fishery environment!
The lake holds a very good stock of some of the most sought after saltwater
species. These include Grouper which are stocked to a massive 40kg! Giant
Trevally, better known as GT are stocked to 8kg, Barramundi to 6kg, Cobia to
7kg, Milkfish to 10kg, Snappers to 6kg, and Mangrove Jacks to 2kg.
Permitted fishing methods are lure fishing, fly fishing and bait fishing.
You are welcome to try any of these methods. Lure fishing and bait fishing
equipment is supplied, but we prefer you to bring your own fly fishing
equipment if possible. We recommend fly fishing equipment should be at
least 8 weight with an intermediate line. All flies must be barbless hooks.
You are welcome to bring your own spinning / bait fishing equipment, which
must be in good condition, and capable of handling big fish to 40kg.
Many different types of lures are effective, soft plastics, swim baits,
crankbaits, poppers, walking baits, jerkbaits and vibe lures. All hooks must be
barbless.
Fishing is with one rod per angler, which is supplied with a good amount of
bait fish to last throughout your session.
There is plenty of shade around the lake, but fly fisherman should understand
that backcasting is not possible in many areas of the lake due to the amount
of tropical trees. Roll casting is the preferred method, many fish are very
close in to the bank, so this is not really a problem.

Guides are on hand, and will help to put you onto the fish, and also help you to
net the fish, and take photos for you. All fish must be landed with the
assistance of the lakeside guides. Fish safety is the priority at this lake, and
all fish must be handled carefully. No Boga / lip grips allowed!
Food and drinks are available at the lake at very reasonable prices, and there
are clean toilets. Sunbeds and fishing chairs are provided.
Fishing sessions can be for 4 hours, or a full day session which is 8.30am - 5.30pm.
Price per person:
4 hours - 2,800 thb.
Full day session - 4,000 thb.
No deposit is required; just confirm you're booking by telephone or email 2–3 days
prior to your fishing trip.
Fishing equipment, lures and bait are included.
Transport is not included, but we can arrange the transport for you at local
rates. Example price, Patong to the fishery 650 thb each way.
Non–fishermen are welcome to join you at the lake free of charge if there is room in the car.
