Tippet & Leader Knot
Step by Step.
Tie a double overhand knot in one end of your mono leader or shock tippet. |

Tension the knot to the point where a double loop is formed, but no more. |
Thread the class tippet or mono main line through the double loop configuration as shown. |

Pull the double overhand knot in the heavy line really tight so that some flattening or deformity is noticeable. |
You need to tie a nail knot in the class tippet or mono main line using a fine metal tube. |

Wrap your tube with the class tippet or mono main line eleven or twelve times. |
Then thread the class tippet or mono main line into the tube. |

Slide the tube out from under the wraps. |
Slide the two knots together. Close up the nail knot but don't pull it too tight or you could break the class tippet and have to start again. |

Trim the tags and the attachment is complete. |
